Illinois Racing Board met Oct. 12.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

On Thursday October 12, 2023, a regular meeting of the Illinois Racing Board was held at 555 West Monroe, Chicago, Illinois starting at 11:00 a.m. The following Board members participated: Chairman Dan Beiser, Commissioners Eddie Arroyo, Leslie Breuer Jr, Beth Doria, Lydia Gray, Alyssa Murphy, Benjamin Reyes, Patricia Saccone, and Michael Schmidt. Staff members Domenic DiCera, Lindsay Evans, Bob Denneen, Michael Belmonte, Vitto Okoye, and Donald Marquez also participated.

LICENSEE REQUESTS:

Commissioner Reyes moved for approval of race officials at Suburban Downs for calendar year 2023. Commissioner Arroyo seconded the motion. The motion passed (9-0) by roll call vote.

Commissioner Breuer moved for approval to amend the 2023 Dates Order to change live racing in the months of November and December from Fridays to Mondays at Suburban Downs. Commissioner Reyes seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously (9-0) by roll call vote.

STAFF REQUEST

Commissioner Doria moved to ratify the 2024 Dates Order to comply with the Illinois Open Meetings Act and the Illinois Racing Act. Commissioner Saccone seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously (9-0) by roll call vote.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Commissioner Saccone moved to approve the minutes of the September 21, 2023 board meeting. Commissioner Reyes seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously (9-0) by roll call vote.

ADJOURMENT

At 11:24 AM., Commissioner Doria moved to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Arroyo seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously (9-0) by roll call vote.
