Senior Adriana Crabtree of the Illinois Wesleyan University women’s track and field team was named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Runner of the Week, according to an announcement by the organization on April 22.
The award is Crabtree’s first this season and her fourth overall during her collegiate career. It is also the first time she has received this recognition during an outdoor season. The achievement highlights her consistent performance for a program that competes at the NCAA Division III level, as noted by the official website.
Crabtree finished 40th out of 114 athletes in the open 3000-meter steeplechase at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California, on April 16. Competing alongside athletes from Division I, II, III, and national teams, she recorded a season-best time of 10:33.93. This result was just half a second behind her own program record set at last year’s NCAA Division III National Championship. Her current time ranks fourth nationally among Division III competitors this season.
The Illinois Wesleyan Titans Women’s Track and Field program is affiliated with Illinois Wesleyan University and its athletics programs according to the official website. The team draws members from various regions throughout Illinois as noted on its website and participates in NCAA Division III athletics as part of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin according to university sources. The program is based in Bloomington, Illinois according to official information, where it hosts events at Shirk Center Indoor Track as per university records.
Looking ahead, several Titans will compete at three meets over April 23-25: Drake Relays (April 23-25), a meet at Monmouth College (April 23), and Millikin’s Friday Night Invite (April 24).
