Aidan Flinn named Scholar Athlete of the Week for Illinois baseball

Freshman Aidan Flinn was recognized as Scholar Athlete of the Week by the University of Illinois on April 16 after his standout performance in men’s baseball. Flinn, who is currently undeclared in the Gies College of Business, pitched during Illinois’ narrow 8–7 loss to New Orleans on Sunday, April 12.

During the game against New Orleans, Flinn retired the first 13 batters he faced and achieved a career-high ten strikeouts over his first four innings. He struck out seven consecutive hitters between the first and third innings, including striking out all three batters in both the second and third frames. Flinn is a freshman from Mokena, Illinois.
