Akuvox announced on Apr. 18 that its flagship smart intercom, the X910, has received the Red Dot Award 2026 for product design. The company said this recognition highlights its focus on combining advanced technology with visual appeal for modern premium homes.

The award is significant as it marks the introduction of what Akuvox describes as the world’s first AI-powered parcel detection feature in a residential intercom. This function aims to improve security and convenience by monitoring and protecting deliveries at all hours.

According to Akuvox, the X910 automatically detects parcels when they arrive or are moved, sending real-time notifications to users through indoor monitors or an app. The device includes two cameras—a main five-megapixel camera with wide coverage and a secondary two-megapixel camera—to reduce blind spots and enhance visibility regardless of lighting conditions. Audio communication is supported by dual microphones and noise cancellation features designed to maintain clarity even in noisy environments or during poor network connections.

The X910 offers several access methods including Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Near Field Communication (NFC), QR code scanning, RFID cards, and integration with the Akuvox SmartPlus app. It is built to withstand harsh weather conditions due to its IP66 waterproof rating and IK08 impact resistance, operating reliably from -40℃ to +55℃.

In addition to functionality, Akuvox highlights the device’s compact form factor in a dark tone intended for high-end architecture. A single backlit button serves both practical use and visual refinement.
