Aleese Trimingham of Illinois College was named the Midwest Conference Women’s Track Performer of the Week, according to an April 14 announcement from the league.

The recognition highlights Trimingham’s achievements at the Greenville Select meet, where she won both the 100-meter and 400-meter hurdles. Her times—14.43 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles and 1:03.44 in the 400-meter hurdles—are currently among the best in this season’s Midwest Conference competition. Nationally, her performance ranks her sixteenth in the country for the 100-meter hurdles and twenty-second for the 400-meter hurdles.

This marks Trimingham’s sixth career selection as track performer of the week and her second such honor within three weeks. The Illinois College Lady Blues Track and Field program provides student-athletes with opportunities for competition, growth, and scholarly achievement, according to its official website.

The team is part of NCAA Division III athletics and competes within both that division and in Midwest Conference events according to its official website.

Illinois College will next compete at the Augustana Meet of Champions scheduled for this weekend in Rock Island.
