State Representative Amy Grant said on May 5 that DuPage County residents are facing record-high property tax bills, with Illinois families paying what she described as the highest property tax rates in the nation.
Grant said this situation is causing financial strain for many families in the area. She highlighted a newly introduced set of legislative proposals aimed at providing real tax relief to working families and making Illinois more affordable.
“DuPage County residents are taxed out because Illinois families pay the highest property tax rates in the nation,” Grant said. She emphasized her support for measures designed to help residents cope with rising costs.
Grant, a Republican, was elected to the Illinois State House in 2023 to represent the state’s 47th House District, replacing previous state representative Deanne Mazzochi, according to the Illinois General Assembly.
The introduction of these legislative proposals signals ongoing efforts by local lawmakers to address concerns about affordability and taxation. Observers will be watching closely as these measures move through the legislative process.
