The Housing Authority of Champaign County announced on Apr. 16 that applications are now open for the Bristol Senior Residences, with construction expected to be completed in about eight weeks.

The development aims to address the need for more housing options for seniors in the area. An open house ceremony is planned for July to mark the completion of the project.

Seniors aged 62 and older are eligible to apply. Those interested can submit their applications through the Housing Authority of Champaign County website or visit the Housing Authority office at 2008 N. Market Street, Champaign. Applications will be accepted until June 1.

Officials say this new housing option will help meet growing demand among seniors in the community as they seek safe and accessible living arrangements.

The upcoming open house event is expected to provide more information about available amenities and give future residents an opportunity to tour the facility.
