The Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission released the new PMBR (2026-2027) Self-Assessment Program for attorneys who do not maintain malpractice insurance on May 28. The program consists of four interactive modules covering topics such as legal marketing and effective client communication. Each module is 60 minutes long, free, and available for Illinois Minimum Continuing Legal Education professional responsibility credit.
While the PMBR Program is a 2027 registration requirement for some Illinois attorneys, it is open to all Illinois attorneys for up to four hours of free MCLE credit. Attorneys may choose to take any individual module or complete all four.
The ARDC encourages participation by stating, “Take any module you want or take all 4! Begin the ARDC’s PMBR Program or any of the ARDC’s on-demand CLE programs today by visiting the ARDC Online Learning Portal.”
The Illinois Bar Association supports lawyers in the state by providing continuing legal education, practice management resources, and professional networking opportunities, according to the official website. The association also promotes diversity, equity and inclusion; recognizes excellence through awards; utilizes the Illinois Bar Center for its operations; serves more than 28,000 members; and operates under an elected president, Board of Governors, and Assembly.
