The Ashland Park Homeowners Association organized a Boneyard Community Day cleanup on April 18, bringing together 28 neighborhood volunteers who collected 28 bags of litter from common areas and ponds.

The event is part of the subdivision’s ongoing participation as a registered Boneyard Creek cleanup site over several years. Organizers said they plan to continue their efforts with additional weekend cleanups scheduled from May 2 through August 22, as well as further events in the fall.

Residents in Ashland Park said that holding several smaller cleanup events instead of one or two larger ones has helped keep the neighborhood cleaner without feeling overwhelming. The approach allows more frequent attention to problem areas and encourages broader participation among neighbors.

The City supports these local initiatives by providing litter sticks, buckets, and trash bags through its Neighborhood Services Engagement Trailer borrow program. This assistance makes it easier for groups like the Ashland Park HOA to maintain their community spaces.

Looking ahead, organizers hope that regular cleanups will continue to improve the appearance and environment of their neighborhood while fostering a sense of community involvement.
