Illinois State Representative Daniel Swanson announced on Apr. 21 that the fourth annual Autism Awareness Event will take place Thursday evening at the Galesburg Public Library.
The event aims to provide information and support for those interested in autism, offering community resources, food, drinks, and activities. Swanson said he is “very honored and proud to bring this advocacy and awareness together.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about autism from people available on site during the event. The gathering is scheduled from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the library located at 264 W. Main Street.
Swanson, a Republican, was elected to the Illinois State House in 2023 to represent the state’s 71st House District, replacing previous state representative Donald L. Moffitt according to available information.
The event highlights ongoing efforts by local officials and community members to increase understanding of autism through accessible public events.
