Auxiliary donates $22,000 to HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation for equipment needs

The HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Breese Auxiliary donated $22,000 to the HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation to support the purchase of medical equipment and comfort items for several hospital departments, according to a May 1 announcement.

This annual donation helps the hospital enhance services and care by funding new equipment that improves patient experiences. This year, the funds will be used to buy a bladder scanner for the Emergency Department and a surgical positioner for Surgery.

“As we close out National Volunteer Week this month, I can’t thank our Auxiliary members enough for all the work and hours they contribute to St. Joseph’s all year round,” said Amanda Ennen, Chief Administrative Officer at St. Joseph’s Hospital Breese. “The money they raise stays local and help us respond quickly to evolving equipment needs and improve both the safety and experience of our patients and the community.”

The Auxiliary is a volunteer group focused on supporting Saint Joseph’s through events, service projects, fundraising activities like book fairs, gift shop sales, raffles, flower sales, in-kind gifts for patients, and volunteering at hospital events.

“The Foundation is deeply appreciative of the Auxiliary’s continued partnership and generosity,” said Emily Wilson, Philanthropy Officer for HSHS St. Joseph’s Foundation Breese. “Their commitment allows us to invest in many more projects to keep local care accessible to all.” Saint Joseph’s Hospital supports community wellness through health screenings, educational programs, and support groups according to its official website.
