In a May 29 Facebook post, gubernatorial candidate Sen. Darren Bailey (R-Louisville) urged his constituents to sign up for an election integrity task force.

“Friends, it’s important that we ensure election integrity. The best way we can do that is having trained poll watchers. Please sign up to join our Election Integrity Task Force. We have some great volunteers who will train you and ensure you can be successful in help secure our elections,” Bailey posted.

Bailey said more information is available on his website.

Bailey recently proposed an annual purging of voter rolls, individual tracking for mail-in ballots, a random 1% audit of voter signatures and ballots, and mandatory voter IDs while allowing free IDs for those who do not already have a driver’s license or state ID.

Last year, he pushed for legislation to ensure election integrity as the DuPage County elections were audited. When former DuPage County Auditor Bob Grogan’s lost his bid for re-election, he claimed there were irregularities with the vote tallies. An audit ruled in favor of his opponent Bill White.

“My legislation will help move any potential recounts along faster and help uncover any potential fraud or inconsistencies to ensure all elections are fair, honest and transparent,” Bailey said.
