In a Sept. 18 Facebook post, Sen. Darren Bailey revealed plans for a bus tour as a part of his gubernatorial campaign. In an opinion piece, he also wrote that supporting law enforcement, containing the government and school vouchers are a few of the pillars to bring Chicago back to greatness, themes that will likely be touched on during his bus tour.

“Hey friends! We kick off our September Bus Tour TOMORROW! Mark your calendars for a stop coming up near you. #restoreillinois #firepritzker” Bailey said in the Facebook post.

Also as a part of his campaign, Bailey outlined his open ed where he went over his campaign’s core tenets.

“Read my full OpEd on how we restore Chicago and all of Illinois’ greatness,” Bailey wrote in the post. “Despite these losses, Chicago remains the capital of the Midwest, host of world-class universities, innovative financial markets, globally recognized cultural institutions, jaw-dropping architecture, iconic neighborhoods, renowned museums and a legendary restaurant scene. Chicago’s central location, combined with its transportation infrastructure — roads, rail, water arteries and airports — enables the city to facilitate commerce across the continent and around the world.”

Bailey also made sure to promote general citizen involvement during this election cycle.

“We must all get involved and make a difference this election cycle,” Bailey said in a Facebook post. “JB Pritzker has failed to keep our streets safe and our economy growing. Our home is in trouble and it’s up to us to save it. We must reform Springfield and restore Illinois.”
