Benedictine University alumnus brings off Broadway comedy to Chicago in May

Benedictine University alumnus Mike Rago is bringing his off Broadway comedy, Gus and Alice, to Chicago this May, according to an April 17 announcement. Rago wrote and directed the play, which will be presented by Theatre 31 Productions LLC at the Greenhouse Theater for five performances.

The play follows a married couple of more than fifty years whose routine is disrupted when Alice suggests moving into a retirement community. The story includes scenes of game nights, tea dates with friends, conversations about gluten and cats, singing, and debates over daily habits.

Rago said he and the cast are excited to bring the show home. Benedictine University recognized Rago’s achievements as an example of alumni success in creative fields.
