Illinois College’s Cambria Currie was named Midwest Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week, according to an announcement by the league on Apr. 27.
The recognition highlights Currie’s recent performances, where she won all three of her starts last week without allowing a run. She gave up only three hits and recorded 12 strikeouts across those games. Currie began her week with a two-hit shutout against Eureka, tallying four strikeouts on Wednesday. On Saturday, she delivered a one-hit shutout with five strikeouts versus Knox. She finished the weekend with a no-hitter against Grinnell, striking out four batters in the game that secured the 2026 Midwest Conference regular season title for Illinois College Lady Blues Softball.
