Illinois College’s Cambria Currie was named Midwest Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week, according to an announcement by the league on Apr. 27.

The recognition highlights Currie’s recent performances, where she won all three of her starts last week without allowing a run. She gave up only three hits and recorded 12 strikeouts across those games. Currie began her week with a two-hit shutout against Eureka, tallying four strikeouts on Wednesday. On Saturday, she delivered a one-hit shutout with five strikeouts versus Knox. She finished the weekend with a no-hitter against Grinnell, striking out four batters in the game that secured the 2026 Midwest Conference regular season title for Illinois College Lady Blues Softball.

Illinois College Lady Blues Softball competes in NCAA Division III softball according to the official website. The team belongs to the Midwest Conference and operates from Jacksonville, Illinois as reported by its official site.

Home games are held at Jessica Kamp Softball Field, which features a resurfaced infield designed to improve drainage and minimize weather-related issues according to school sources.

The Lady Blues will finish their regular season on Friday with an away doubleheader at Monmouth before hosting the conference tournament scheduled for May 8-9.
