The Carpentersville Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 1701 Cambria Lane on May 14. Crews contained the blaze and prevented it from spreading further, with all occupants either exiting safely or being assisted from the home, according to a May 15 announcement.
The incident is significant as it highlights the coordinated efforts of local emergency services in responding to residential fires and ensuring community safety.
Firefighters arrived at the scene at 12:59 p.m. and found an active fire in a large two-story residence. The fire had started on the exterior of the building and spread into the attic. During firefighting operations, one elderly woman was removed from the home, examined for injuries, and signed a release at the scene. Two other occupants managed to exit before firefighters arrived. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
Multiple agencies assisted in responding to this incident, including East Dundee Fire Protection District, West Dundee Fire Department, Rutland-Dundee Fire Protection District, Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District, Hoffman Estates Fire Department, Hanover Township Emergency Services, and Huntley Fire Protection District.
The estimated loss from the fire is $180,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
