A Champaign man was arrested on April 16 in connection with a homicide that took place in November 2025, according to an announcement from the Champaign Police Department on April 17.
The case concerns the fatal shooting of Richard Frazier, age 24, who was found with life-threatening injuries after police responded to a report of a shooting on the 3700 block of Colleen Drive at around 6:04 p.m. on November 16, 2025. Officers and medical personnel attempted life-saving measures before Frazier was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Investigators said that Frazier had just left his apartment when he was shot. The suspect, identified as Ketone Bryant, age 26 and also from Champaign, was located and arrested in Chicago with assistance from the United States Marshals Service.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing despite the arrest.
