Chicago Fire FC announced on Apr. 21 a multi-year partnership with SeatGeek, naming the company as its Official Ticketing Partner and Founding Partner for the club’s new downtown stadium set to open in 2028.

The agreement comes as Chicago Fire FC prepares to move into a new venue located along the Chicago River at The 78, aiming to offer fans improved ticketing options and a wider range of entertainment events. The club said SeatGeek will not only provide ticketing services but also play a strategic role in managing tickets for soccer matches, concerts, and other events at the stadium.

“We have ambitious goals to deliver a variety of entertainment programming that’s unrivaled in Chicago and spans soccer matches, major concerts, and world-class events,” said Dave Baldwin, President of Business Operations for Chicago Fire FC. “We’re excited to partner with SeatGeek to create one of the most holistic partnership platforms across North American sports and entertainment.”

Russ D’Souza, Co-Founder and President of SeatGeek, said: “A soccer-specific stadium in downtown Chicago is going to attract a lot more than just soccer. The Fire are building one of the most compelling entertainment venues in the country, and the ticketing operation has to be built for that from the start. That’s exactly what we designed SeatGeek to do, and we’re proud to be in from the ground up.”

The planned stadium will seat over 22,000 fans for soccer games and up to 31,000 attendees for concerts or special events. It will feature public plazas, outdoor spaces integrated with nearby retail areas, premium suites and club spaces designed specifically for both matchdays and year-round activities.

SeatGeek’s platform aims to streamline operations by providing a unified backend system that supports smarter pricing strategies while giving fans an easier way to buy or transfer tickets securely through mobile devices. Fans can preview seat views before purchase using Deal Score technology.

Since announcing plans last summer for its privately funded South Loop venue—where it recently broke ground—the club reports strong community support with over 17,000 seating commitments already secured.

Chicago Fire FC competes in Major League Soccer conferences with a professional roster according to the official website. The team fosters soccer growth throughout the Midwest through community initiatives according to its official website while utilizing Soldier Field as its current home venue according to official information. Historically successful on-field—with victories including an MLS Cup win—the club continues advancing professional soccer alongside youth development programs as reported by their site, all under branding inspired by the Great Chicago Fire according to their official site.
