Registration is now open for the 2026 Conservation Cropping Seminars, which will take place in Illinois early next year. The seminars are scheduled for January 27 at the DeKalb County Farm Bureau in Sycamore and January 28 at The Double Tree Hotel in Mount Vernon.
Speakers at this year’s events include Ray Archuleta, Soil Health Specialist; Bryan Young, Professor of Weed Science at Purdue University; Tom Kilcer from Advanced Ag Systems; S.T.A.R Representatives; and a panel of Illinois farmers from each region. Attendees will have the chance to learn about soil health, cover crops (including their use as forage), weed management strategies, and recent agronomic research.
The seminars are organized by several agencies and organizations including the Illinois Department of Agriculture, Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, Champaign County Soil and Water Conservation District, Pro Harvest, and local Soil & Water Conservation Districts.
Each seminar costs $25 per participant or $10 for students. Registration includes lunch and offers opportunities to meet speakers and sponsors or network with other attendees. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for soil and water topics will be available. The events begin early in the day and conclude before 4 p.m.
To attend, participants must register online at www.ccswcd.com/conservation-cropping-seminars or call the Champaign County Soil and Water Conservation District at (217) 352-3536. Registration closes on January 9, 2026.
