The D140 school board recognized Keller fifth-grader Juliana N. on April 16 for receiving the 2026 Outstanding Student Technology Award from the Infinitec Southwest Assistive Technology Coalition.
This award is given to students who show strong progress and skill in using assistive technology to support their learning and independence. Juliana was formally honored at a ceremony held at Chicago Gaelic Park in March, where her achievements were celebrated by family, staff, and the community. The school board said that “Juliana’s growth, perseverance, and ability to use technology as a tool for success truly exemplify this award.” The board also congratulated “Juliana, her family, and the dedicated staff who support her each day on this outstanding achievement.”
Millennium Elementary School serves students from kindergarten through grade five with an enrollment of 567 during the 2019-2020 school year in Tinley Park and Cook County according to Illinois Report Card. Among these students, first grade had the highest concentration with 17.9 percent of all students enrolled according to Illinois Report Card. Fifth graders made up 15.9 percent of Millennium’s student body during that period according to Illinois Report Card.
Other grades included third grade with 16.8 percent of enrollment according to Illinois Report Card, fourth grade with 14.3 percent according to Illinois Report Card, and second grade with 14 percent according to Illinois Report Card.
The recognition highlights both individual accomplishment in assistive technology use as well as ongoing support from Millennium Elementary School staff.
