David M. Urbanek, 55, of Peotone, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, IL. Born on September 12, 1969, in Hammond, IN, to Terrence and Mary Urbanek, David was a proud graduate of Peotone High School’s Class of 1987. For 16 years, he dedicated his time to working at Costco in Morris, IL, all while enjoying his passion for the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Blackhawks.

David is survived by his children: Jacob Mynatt, Mandy Welch, and Kenzi Urbanek, along with his beloved grandchildren and one on the way. He is also survived by his sister, Noelle Gocal. David was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Catherine Urbanek.

Cremation rites have been accorded, with a memorial visitation scheduled for Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to the wishes of the family. Share memories at www.feddehelfrichcrossfh.com.
