The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will hold its National Drug Take Back event on April 25, offering free and anonymous disposal of unneeded medications at local drop-off locations across the country. Residents in Deer Park can participate by bringing their unused or expired prescription drugs to Vehe Barn at 23570 W Cuba Road from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This initiative is part of a nationwide effort to encourage proper disposal of medications and prevent misuse or accidental ingestion. The event provides an opportunity for community members to safely clear out their medicine cabinets without questions asked.
Organizers say, “Don’t be surprised by what is in your medicine cabinet. If you haven’t used them, don’t need them, or they’re expired, drop them off at a Take Back Day collection site near you on Saturday, April 25th, 10am-2pm.” More information about the program is available at www.DEATakeBack.com.
