Chicago Ridge, Ill., Aug. 23, 1928 – Oct. 11, 2925 – DeLores Molenstra (nee Muffit), wife of the late Eugene Molenstra, passed away peacefully. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and devotion to her loved ones.

DeLores, known as Dee, dedicated her life to her husband Gene and their three sons: John, Alan, and Donald. She will be fondly remembered for her unwavering love and commitment to her family and friends. Dee and Gene’s love story began at a dance hall on 63rd and Halsted, where they met and later married on September 23, 1950, before settling in Mt. Greenwood to raise their family.

DeLores is survived by her loving family: John (Nancy) Molenstra, Alan (Debbie) Molenstra, and Donald (Michelle) Molenstra; cherished grandmother to Starr, Brandi, John Jr., Larissa, Kelly, Alan Jr., Ryan, Christina, Steven, the late Michael Wetzel, Chris, Jake Heeter, and Cassi Heeter; proud great-grandmother of numerous great-grandchildren; and fond sister to the late Kenneth and Keith Muffit, survived by Marion Burke (nee Muffit).

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Curley Funeral Home in Chicago Ridge, with a chapel service on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
