Diane Bolen, a respiratory therapy assistant at Denman Medical, was recognized with the “Who’s Your Angel?” award on April 29 after being nominated by Carol Hulett, according to a May 3 announcement.

The recognition highlights the impact that healthcare staff can have on patients and their families. The program allows individuals to acknowledge those who have made a positive difference during their healthcare experience.

Hulett described her recent challenges, saying, “My previous week was very stressful. There was a medication mix-up, it was Senior Prom weekend for my only granddaughter and then there was confusion on my cpap mask. My current mask was discontinued with no notice. A new mask was in the paper bag and it stressed me out, because I did not know how to use it or fit it. Diane was patient, kind and listened to my venting woes! She explained, fitted and showed me how to adjust and release my new mask! It made me less stressed and happy! God bless her!”

The “Who’s Your Angel” program invites patients or family members to make financial gifts in honor of employees who have positively influenced their care. These donations are deposited into patient care areas or restricted funds that best match the employee honored or the nature of the patient’s experience. In this case, the donation went to the Respiratory Services Fund.

Nomination forms for “Who’s Your Angel” are available in Health System departments as well as online at blessinghealth.org/angel. Additional information about supporting Blessing Health System can be found at blessinghealth.org/blessingfoundation.
