Bourbonnais – Dorothy Norvell, aged 90, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. Dorothy was born on October 28, 1934, in Harvey, to Frank and Vonda Grace Sabo. She was married to Lloyd Norvell, who preceded her in death on February 3, 2014.

Dorothy was a retired nurse who found joy in gardening, crocheting, and reading, as well as spending time with her beloved dogs. Her greatest happiness was being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Kankakee.

She is survived by her sons Eliot Kutemeier of Bourbonnais, Allen and Lindee Kutemeier of Momence, daughters Carolyn Kutemeier of Bradley, Judy and Gary Entwistle of Kankakee, and Connie White of Arkansas, sisters Audrey and Daren Lehnert of Grant Park, Wilma Schmitt of Florida, twelve grandchildren, and thirty-two great-grandchildren. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, first husband Verlon Kutemeier, daughter Kathy Jackson, sister Eleanor Tyson, step-son Jerry Norvell, and brother Arthur Ashline.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life service will be held at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Kankakee on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 2-5 p.m. The arrangements are entrusted to Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais.
