The City of Aurora announced on Apr. 29 that downtown Aurora will host a free, all-ages galactic-themed event on Sunday, May 3 from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. The event will take place at Water Street Mall and is open to families, fans, and the general public.

According to organizers, attendees will have the opportunity to meet and interact with costumed characters representing both heroes and villains from popular interstellar stories. The gathering is designed as an immersive experience where visitors can choose their side between good and evil while enjoying photo opportunities with recognizable figures.

The morning event encourages guests to walk through downtown Aurora, take photos, and engage with participants in screen-accurate costumes. “Families, fans, and curious passersby are invited to a free, all-ages meet-and-greet experience where the lines between good and evil blur, and the choice is yours,” organizers said.

This gathering is presented in partnership with the Midwest Garrison. The group is known for its volunteer work using detailed costumes inspired by well-known science fiction franchises. According to the announcement, “Their appearances regularly delight crowds while contributing to meaningful local impact, proving that even the most fearsome figures can be a force for good.”

Organizers invite community members to attend by saying: “So, gather your crew, charge your cameras, and prepare to ‘choose your side’ for a morning that’s sure to be felt across the galaxy.” More information about this event can be found at www.auroradowntown.org.
