Eastern Illinois softball to face Oklahoma State in NCAA Regional opener

Eastern Illinois University announced on May 10 that its softball team will play against Oklahoma State in the opening round of the NCAA Regional. The game is scheduled for Friday at 3:30 p.m. Central Time.

This matchup comes after Eastern Illinois won the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, securing a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year. The Panthers have a season record of 36 wins and 21 losses and are making their third appearance overall in the tournament.

Oklahoma State, which will host the regional games, has compiled a record of 38 wins and 15 losses this season. In addition to this matchup, Stanford (37-13) will play Princeton (33-13) at 1 p.m. Central Time on Friday as part of the same bracket.

The announcement highlights continued success for Eastern Illinois softball as it competes at a national level.
