Eastern Illinois women’s golf team improves in second round of OVC Championship

Eastern Illinois University’s women’s golf team improved its performance on Apr. 20 during the second day of the 2026 Ohio Valley Conference Championships, reducing its total score by nearly 20 strokes compared to the first round at Dalton Golf and Country Club in Dalton, Georgia.

The team posted a score of 332 on Monday and remains in eighth place overall, trailing Tennessee State by just one stroke. Little Rock leads the tournament after two rounds, with Eleonore Aernouts holding the top individual spot.

Meera Upadhyay led Eastern Illinois after completing two rounds, finishing Monday with a score of 80 for a tournament total of 166. She is currently ranked 21st individually. Sophia Miller follows closely behind, tied for 25th place with a total score of 171 after shooting an 84 on Monday.

Addison Kenney, who was tied as EIU’s leader following Sunday’s opening round, finished Monday with an 87 and now sits tied for 29th at a combined score of 173. Mya Mirocha is tied for 38th after recording a two-day total of 186, including a round of 91 on Monday.

Morgan Grant rounded out EIU’s scoring lineup with an impressive round of 81 on Monday; however, she did not participate in Sunday’s opening round and stands in the tournament’s field at position number forty-two.

The final round is scheduled to begin Tuesday morning as teams look to improve their standings before the championship concludes.
