Chicago Ridge – Edward F. Nickless, aged 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Braun) Nickless for 52 years and loving father of Tracy (John) Schorle and Betsy (Dave) Scarriot. Edward was the proud grandfather of Joe Scarriot, Annmarie Schorle, and Nick Scarriot.

He is survived by brothers Bill (Sandy), Bob (Kathy), Jerry (Diane), Jack (Lynn) Nickless, and Rita (John) Ulrich, as well as brothers-in-law Tom (Lynne) Braun, Tim (Jean) Braun, Jeanne (Ray) Venegas, Terry (Janice) Braun, and many nieces and nephews. Edward was preceded in death by his parents William and Rita Nickless, and his in-laws, Tom and Carole Braun.

Edward was a proud member of Local 143 Operating Engineers, serving the Chicago Public Schools for 40 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in Ed’s name.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Curley Funeral Home, located at 6116 W. 111th St., Chicago Ridge. The funeral mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Incarnation Catholic Church, 5757 W. 127th Street in Crestwood.
