The Illinois Wesleyan University women’s tennis team announced on May 12 that two student-athletes, Amber Ehrlich and Katie Van Heuklon, have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team.

This recognition highlights the academic and athletic achievements of both players. Ehrlich, a junior from Springfield, earned her second consecutive Academic All-District selection. She was also named to the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin’s second team for the third time in her career after posting a 10-10 record at No. 1 singles and a 14-6 mark at No. 1 doubles. Ehrlich is majoring in finance with a grade point average of 3.90.

Van Heuklon, a sophomore from Normal, received her first Academic All-District honor. She recorded a 10-8 record at No. 3 singles and an 11-7 mark at No. 2 doubles while maintaining a GPA of 3.50 as an English major.

Both athletes contributed to the team’s first winning season since 2011, with Illinois Wesleyan finishing with a record of 12-6—the most wins since 1991. The program belongs to the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and competes in NCAA Division III athletics according to the official website.

The Titans play their home matches at Evergreen Racquet Club and utilize Beadles-Morse Courts as their outdoor facilities according to the official website. The program operates from Bloomington, Illinois.
