Illinois State Representative Jason Bunting announced on May 7 that Emmaline Hildenbrand of Onarga served as a House Page for the Day, allowing her to observe the workings of the Illinois House of Representatives firsthand.
The opportunity gave Hildenbrand an inside look at state government and legislative procedures. Experiences like this are designed to help young people understand how laws are made and encourage civic engagement among students.
According to Bunting, “On Thursday I had the privilege of introducing Emmaline Hildenbrand of Onarga to the members of the Illinois House. Emmaline served as a House Page for the Day and got to see the workings of the House of Representative up close.”
Hildenbrand is an eighth-grade student at St. Paul’s Lutheran School and will attend Cissna Park in the fall. She is valedictorian of her class, serves as President of the Woodworth Kountry Klovers 4-H Club where she participates in shooting sports, and also plays volleyball, basketball, runs track, plays piano and flute, and was part of the Lutheran Schools State Honor Band.
Bunting said it was great having Hildenbrand join them in Springfield for this experience.
Bunting was elected to represent Illinois’ 106th District in 2023 after succeeding Thomas Bennett, according to the Illinois General Assembly.
