Shawn D. Ames, 61, of Essex, IL, passed away at home on June 20, 2025. He was born on January 17, 1964, in Kankakee, IL, to Wallace Ames and the late Lynn White. Shawn was dedicated to a career in construction and enjoyed fishing, playing guitar, and spending time with friends. He is survived by his daughters Sara (Daniel) Voigts of Pontiac, IL, and Hope Ames of Cabery, IL; his father Wallace Ames of Sebring, FL; nine grandchildren, one great-grandson, and his niece and nephew. Shawn was preceded in death by his mother and two brothers.
