Evelyn A. Vlosak-Novak, a radiant embodiment of love and joy, transitioned to her Heavenly father on July 16, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on April 17, 1933, in Chicago, IL, Evelyn’s life was a reflection of unwavering faith, exuberance for life’s simple pleasures, and profound dedication to her family.

Evelyn’s earthly journey was defined by the love she shared and the hearts she touched. Passing away peacefully in Lemont, IL, surrounded by the memories of a life brimming with meaning, she navigated her final days with grace and dignity, despite a battle with dementia. An epitome of strength, her spirit continued to radiate luminously, underscoring the enduring resilience of the human soul.

At the core of Evelyn’s life stood family. She was a beloved mother to Denise (Dan) Clausen, Mike Vlosak, and John (the late Dina) Vlosak, and a devoted grandmother to Samantha Clausen, Steven Vlosak, and Anthony (Mary) Vlosak. Evelyn extended her affection to many nieces and nephews, holding connections close. Rooted in her relationships were her late mother, Mary Slowik-Ziomek, and late grandmother, Anna Slowik (Bushia), affirming the continuity of family bonds. Evelyn was a loving sister to the late John Ziomek and Valerie (Roy) Gawrych, cherishing these connections in her journey.

Evelyn’s Christian faith illuminated her path, guiding her through life’s ups and downs. Demonstrating Christ’s teachings not only in worship but in daily interactions, Evelyn served as a beacon of kindness, forgiveness, and compassion.

Her interests were as diverse as they were joyful. Evelyn found delight in spending time with loved ones, whether caring for her puppies, watching movies, enjoying nature at the zoo, or engaging in lively games like cards, poker, or bingo. With a zest for life, her infectious laughter resonated, spreading joy among those around her. Travel was also a passion, allowing her to explore the world, creating memories she would recount with enthusiasm and spirit.

As we bid adieu to Evelyn A. Vlosak-Novak, we celebrate a life that exemplified God’s love. Hers is a legacy of joy, a road map to a life well-lived, and a reminder to treasure every moment. While her presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on, offering us guidance and solace, much like the memory of her unwavering light brightening our way forward.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium in Justice, Illinois.

Funeral services follow on the same day, Saturday, July 19, 2025, starting with prayers at 10:00 AM and a procession to Saint Faustina Kowalska Church in Chicago, Illinois for an 11:00 AM Mass.

Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Illinois.
