FDA inspection: Which types of Illinois companies faced the most scrutiny in March?

The FDA conducted inspections at 11 different food and cosmetics companies in Illinois during March, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

These inspections represented the highest count for any single company type by the FDA in Illinois, accounting for 57.9% of all inspections conducted that month.

Among the food and cosmetics firms inspected in Illinois, Aman Kapoor, Inc., Quality Bakeries, LLC, and Global Market Foods, LLC received the greatest number of citations from the FDA in March.

The FDA routinely inspects facilities across the nation to determine if the workplace and their products are compliant with FDA-regulated laws and regulations implemented to improve overall public health. Inspection results are then disclosed publicly.

According to its website, the FDA is a government agency that is primarily responsible for monitoring the production and distribution of human and animal drugs, biological products, medical supplies and tobacco products for safety and quality.
