FOIA Request to Illinois Community College Board regarding employee salaries data with department information on December 29, 2025.

The Prairie State Wire has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Illinois Community College Board. The request seeks access to a complete dataset of community college employee salaries for the years 2025 to 2026, including additional department information. The existing online resource, accessible via this link, currently provides salary data from 2016 to 2025 but lacks details on employees’ departmental affiliations.

The request was made under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140, and emphasizes the need for electronic format delivery. As members of the media, we at Prairie State Wire emphasize our role in gathering and disseminating news to ensure transparency and accountability within public institutions. In line with this mission, we have requested a fee waiver for accessing these records.

Additionally, it is noted that the requester is affiliated with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting media companies and advocacy groups in investigating governmental agencies through FOIA and Sunshine Laws. More information about this coalition can be found here.

We look forward to receiving this information in an electronic format as it will greatly aid in our reporting efforts. As always, we remain open for any questions or clarifications regarding this request.
