Illinois Wesleyan University sophomore Gigi Zera was named a Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-Region honoree at the WGCA Banquet on May 18, held during the 2026 NCAA Division III Women’s Golf National Championship. This marks the first time Zera has received all-region recognition in her collegiate career.
The award highlights Zera’s strong performance this season. She was recently selected as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Women’s Golfer of the Year. Over ten events, she posted a team-best stroke average of 76.8, achieved four top-five finishes, and secured her first career win at the Division II SMSU Classic with personal-best scores for both 18 holes (70) and 36 holes (145).
Zera is one of two women’s golfers from the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin to be honored in the Great Lakes region, joining Carthage’s Lexi Manteufel.
The Illinois Wesleyan Titans compete in intercollegiate athletics at the NCAA Division III level and participate in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship. They utilize Ironwood Golf Course and Weibring Golf Course in Normal, Illinois, for their events as part of their collegiate athletic program, according to the official website.
Competition at this year’s national championship is scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 19.
