Harold: One month into attorney general campaign shows Illinoisans need change

One month after announcing her decision to run for Illinois attorney general, Erica Harold highlighted the connections her candidacy has already made with Illinoisans and called for supporters to join “Team Harold” in a email to supporters.

“Since the announcement, our team has been traveling the state to meet with and learn from Illinois families,” Harold wrote. “I am so humbled by the enthusiastic support and encouragement that I’ve received along the way.”

Harold noted her background from an Urbana family of four children, saying that while her parents made sure she and her siblings had opportunities, Illinois families today are not able to do the same.

“…[I]t’s time to change the status quo and stop the Madigan Way from squashing reform,” Harold wrote. “You deserve a state government that works for the people, not the powerful. I can’t do this without your help. Your support so far has been fantastic. But we need to ramp up our efforts now; there’s a lot of work to do.”

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan recently dropped out of the 2018 race after 14 years in office.
