Hotel Solaya has officially opened its doors this spring, joining the JdV by Hyatt brand portfolio after an extensive transformation, according to an April 16 announcement. The newly reimagined property introduces a modern desert oasis in Old Town Scottsdale, blending contemporary Mexican influences with local energy for both residents and travelers.

The hotel features 194 redesigned guest rooms and suites, art-filled common areas, curated dining options, a spa and fitness center, and a lively outdoor pool deck intended to capture the social spirit of the area. The name Solaya is derived from “Sol,” meaning sun, and “Aya,” goddess of dawn—chosen to reflect radiance and new beginnings inspired by the desert landscape.

General Manager Tobby Rau said: “Hotel Solaya was designed to celebrate the energy of Scottsdale while offering guests a space that feels both vibrant and welcoming. From the architecture and design to the culinary concepts and poolside atmosphere, every element reflects a sense of curiosity, connection, and discovery.”

The hotel’s main restaurant Ella on the Park is set to open later this spring. It will offer modern American cuisine overlooking Civic Center Park with seating for up to 150 guests indoors and outdoors. A brunch menu is expected in October. The lobby-based Common Ground Bistro provides casual American bistro fare throughout the day.

For recreation or events, guests can enjoy The Pool at Solaya with cabanas and lounge seating or make use of seven event spaces including a large outdoor lawn for gatherings or ceremonies. Hotel Solaya is managed by Dreamscape Hospitality.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation reports that as of December 31, 2025, its portfolio included more than 1,500 hotels across six continents under various brands such as Park Hyatt, Andaz, Thompson Hotels among others.
