HSHS St. Francis Hospital to host free women’s health conference on June 11

HSHS St. Francis Hospital announced on May 22 that it will hold a free informational conference focused on women’s health and safety resources at the Litchfield Community Center on Thursday, June 11 at 4:30 p.m.

The event aims to address women’s health concerns by connecting attendees with local agencies and offering educational opportunities. The hospital said the Women’s Health Survival Guide event is open to all community members interested in learning more about comprehensive health topics for women.

The program will feature a presentation from Nikki Edwards, HSHS System Manager of Culture and Experience, who will speak about emotional regulation. Attendees can also participate in a vendor fair and enjoy offerings from local food trucks. “Emotional regulation is a vital part of our overall health and well-being,” said Ronita Rufus, Emergency Department nurse at St. Francis Hospital. “At the Women’s Health Survival Guide event, attendees will explore comprehensive women’s health topics, discover local resources and learn practical strategies to better understand and manage their emotions.”

A variety of community organizations will be present to provide information, including Alzheimer’s Support Group, HSHS Hospice, HSHS St. Francis Hospital Family Maternity Center – Safe Sleep initiative, Humana, Illinois Benefit Advisory, Innovative Women’s and Psychiatric Healthcare with Tamara Young CNM PMHNP-BC, Lighthouse Pregnancy Resource Center, Macoupin County Public Health Department (MCPHD), Macoupin County Safe Families, Montgomery County Breast Cancer Support Group, Montgomery County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), Next Network / Breaking Bread program as well as representatives from Prairie State Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program and St. Francis Way Clinic.
