‘I’d be surprised if it were not pay-to-play,’ radio host says of Pritzker-Blagojevich connection

“Connected to Chicago” radio host Bill Cameron summed up his thinking about gubernatorial candidate J.B. Pritzker’s ties to former Gov. Rod Blagojevich in a recent WLS interview, according to the Illinois Republican Party.

“I’d be surprised if it were not pay-to-play,” Cameron told hosts John Howell and Ray Stevens.

Cameron’s comment followed a Chicago Tribune report that showed that Blagojevich announced a $1 million grant for the Skokie Holocaust Museum — for which Pritzker was a lead fundraiser — immediately after gettng campaign contributions of $100,000 from Pritzker and his wife. 

The Tribune has previously reported on Pritzker’s connection, via wiretap tapes, to Blagojevich’s efforts to sell the Illinois Senate seat vacated by President-elect Barack Obama.

“…This is kind of a trend in which you now have [Pritzker] in a relationship with Blagojevich,” Cameron said, according to the GOP. “The first one being having been caught on tape in an FBI wiretap trying to get Blago to line him up to be State Treasurer. So being pals with Blago is never a good idea because Blagojevich turned out to be so toxic. Anyone, anything he touched is poisoned.”
