The Illinois Bar Association announced on May 8 that it will hold a live webcast titled “Structuring Remote Patient Monitoring Strategies: Managing Compliance Challenges” on June 2. The event will run from 1:00 to 2:35 p.m. and offers attorneys the opportunity to earn 1.25 hours of continuing legal education credit.
The seminar aims to inform attorneys with intermediate practice experience about how Remote Physiologic Monitoring (RPM) and Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) are changing clinical practice, reimbursement strategy, and compliance obligations in healthcare. The program will cover technical and clinical differences between RPM and RTM, including the types of data collected, device and software requirements, as well as current billing standards set by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Attendees will also learn about hospital integration of RPM and RTM into care delivery models, their role in supporting value-based care, billing integrity concerns, fraud and abuse risks, recent litigation or enforcement actions, privacy issues related to these technologies, and safeguards for managing compliance risks. Registration is open for those interested in participating in this online educational event.
The Illinois Bar Association serves more than 28,000 members across the state by providing continuing legal education opportunities such as this seminar. It also supports its members through practice management resources and professional networking events according to the official website.
The association promotes diversity, equity and inclusion within the legal profession; recognizes excellence through awards for pro bono service; utilizes the Illinois Bar Center for administrative functions; and operates under an elected president along with a Board of Governors and an Assembly according to the official website.
