Illinois College announced on Apr. 21 the hiring of Teddy Gedville as an assistant coach for the Lady Blues volleyball program, according to Head Coach Claire Scully.
The addition of Gedville is intended to strengthen the coaching staff and support student-athlete development both on and off the court. The Lady Blues Volleyball team competes in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, according to the official website.
“We are incredibly excited for Teddy to join our program and have an impact on our athletes,” Scully said. “Teddy’s time with successful programs at North Park as a player and a coach will be an asset to the Lady Blues Volleyball Program. His emphasis on development both on and off the court makes him a great choice to coach and mentor our student-athletes.”
Gedville previously served as an assistant coach for both women’s and men’s volleyball at North Park University since 2022, where he contributed to practice planning, player development, match preparation, film breakdown, and opponent scouting. He played a role in helping North Park’s women’s program reach the NCAA Division III Tournament during his tenure.
While at North Park, Gedville focused on position-specific training and mentored setters who received multiple weekly conference honors. He also handled match statistics tracking and supported in-game strategy adjustments. In addition to collegiate coaching experience, he worked with LCVC at the club level focusing on technical skills training.
Gedville earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from North Park University in 2025 after more than ten years of competitive playing experience with their men’s volleyball team.
The Illinois College Lady Blues Volleyball team plays its home matches in Jacksonville, Illinois according to the official website. The program functions as part of intercollegiate athletics under the Bluewomen nickname for its women’s teams according to its official website.
Gedville is set to join ahead of the upcoming season bringing experience in analytics, player development, and competitive play.
