Illinois College men’s tennis secures 7-0 victory over Westminster in non-conference match

The Illinois College men’s tennis team won a 7-0 match against Westminster in a non-conference dual on Sunday, Apr. 19. The Blueboys, who have now achieved three consecutive wins, improved their overall record to 13-8.

This result highlights the team’s strong performance as they approach the end of the regular season. The win also reflects the program’s commitment to providing competitive opportunities and fostering team spirit for student-athletes, according to the official website.

During doubles play, Illinois College changed its lineup but still managed to sweep all three matches. Grayson Dupre and Drake Bartos won at No. 1 doubles with a score of 6-1, while Evan Aleman and Ryne Breyer secured a shutout at No. 2 with a score of 6-0. The Blueboys received a forfeit at No. 3 doubles.

In singles competition, Dupre claimed victory at No. 1 singles (6-2, 6-3), Aleman won at No. 2 (6-2, 6-1), and Bartos delivered another shutout at No. 3 (6-0, 6-0). Additional singles wins came from Breyer (6-1, 6-1) at No.4 and Billy Glynn (6-1, 6-2) at No.5.

Illinois College Blue Boys Tennis competes in NCAA Division III and participates in the Midwest Conference according to the official website. The team operates as part of collegiate athletics with home matches held at Bellatti Tennis Complex in Jacksonville according to the official website.

Looking ahead, Illinois College will travel to Greenville for their final regular-season dual on Wednesday with first serve scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
