Illinois College women’s tennis records shutout win over Webster in final home match

The Illinois College women’s tennis team achieved a 7-0 victory against Webster on Apr. 15 in their final home dual of the season at the Bellatti Tennis Complex.

This win marks the team’s 16th victory of the season, setting a new program record for single-season wins. The Lady Blues now hold a record of 16-7-1.

Illinois College swept all doubles matches, with Alyssa Wise and Lily Ingram winning 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, and Sabrina Ingram and Sophi Barrow taking a 6-1 win at No. 2. Morgan Keefe and Madison Eastin won by forfeit at No. 3 doubles. In singles play, Wise secured a straight sets win (6-4, 6-0) at No. 1, while Eastin earned a hard-fought victory (7-5, 6-3) at No. 2 singles. Keefe dominated her opponent with a score of 6-1, 6-0 at No.3 singles; Maddie Marshall also won decisively (6-1, 6-1) at No.4 singles. Both Sabrina Ingram (No.5) and Lily Ingram (No.6) were awarded victories by forfeit.

According to the official website, Illinois College Lady Blues Tennis features the Blueboys as its mascot and competes in NCAA Division III as part of the Midwest Conference. The team is based in Jacksonville, Illinois according to its official roster.

Looking ahead, Illinois College will travel to Greenville for their final dual match of the season scheduled for Tuesday with first serve set for 4:00 p.m.
