Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities announces new finance and operations manager

The Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities announced on Mar. 30 that LaKeeya Funches has joined its staff as the new finance and operations manager.

Funches will work out of the Springfield, Illinois office. Her appointment is seen as an important addition to the agency, which focuses on supporting people with developmental disabilities in exercising their rights and opportunities.

Originally from Chicago, Funches now resides in Decatur, Illinois. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration at Millikin University. According to the council, she is passionate about community engagement and uses her financial background to support local initiatives and strengthen organizations.

The council said it welcomes Funches’s experience and expertise as it continues its mission to lead change for people with developmental disabilities across Illinois.

No further details were provided about her start date or specific responsibilities within the organization.
