Illinois families and businesses need reliable and affordable power, State Representative C.D. Davidsmeyer said on May 28. Davidsmeyer called for a comprehensive approach to energy policy in Illinois, urging Democrats to reconsider their focus on green energy initiatives.

“Democrats have to let go of their green energy fantasies and join us in building a comprehensive approach to energy so that Illinoisans can afford to keep the lights on,” Davidsmeyer said.

The statement highlights ongoing debates over the direction of Illinois’s energy policies. Discussions continue around balancing renewable energy goals with concerns about cost and reliability for consumers across the state.

Davidsmeyer was elected as a Republican to the Illinois State House in 2012, representing the state’s 100th House District after replacing previous state representative Jim Watson, according to C.D. Davidsmeyer’s office.

The future of Illinois’s power supply remains uncertain as lawmakers consider different approaches amid calls for both environmental responsibility and economic practicality.
