Liberty Principles PAC recently released a 30-second video ad to raise awareness about rising property taxes in Illinois.

“Our property values are going down because our taxes keep going up,” Wheaton resident Susan Michaud said in the ad. “Rich, poor, Republican, Democrat, we’re all the same when it comes to property taxes.”

River Forest resident, Gino Fioravanti, said the tax situation has driven his family out of the state.

“We’re not going to be living in Illinois anymore and it is due to the property taxes,” he said.

A bi-partisan failure caused the situation, Shaun Thompson said.

There is a list of several homeowner’s tax payments on the organization’s website along with the cost of their home and a link to stories and audio from residents claiming the tax rates have forced them to move from Illinois. The site also promotes a one percent tax cap on property taxes.

The organization also provides a list of 19 candidates that the group supports and has made tax reform central to their election promises.
