Illinois State Senator Andrew Chesney said on Apr. 20 that he met with members of Illinois REALTORS during their visit to the Capitol. The organization represents more than 50,000 professionals across the state and plays a significant role in supporting Illinois’ housing market and local economies.
Chesney said the work of Illinois REALTORS extends beyond real estate transactions, highlighting their advocacy for private property rights and their efforts to ensure that families, homeowners, and businesses have input on policies affecting them. “Their work goes far beyond buying and selling homes. They are strong advocates for private property rights and help ensure that families, homeowners, and businesses have a voice in policies that directly impact their livelihoods,” Chesney said.
He added that affordability and economic growth remain major concerns in Illinois, making the perspectives of real estate professionals important for policy discussions. “It was valuable to hear directly from those working on the front lines of real estate in Illinois. These conversations provide real insight into the challenges and opportunities facing our communities,” Chesney said.
Chesney also confirmed his intention to continue working with Illinois REALTORS to support policies aimed at protecting property rights and promoting a stable housing market across the state. “I look forward to continuing to work with Illinois REALTORS to support policies that protect property rights and promote a stronger, more stable housing market across our state,” he said.
Chesney was elected as a Republican to represent Illinois’ 45th Senate District in 2023, succeeding Brian Stewart according to Ballotpedia.
