The University of Illinois Fighting Illini women’s softball team will play its final regular season conference series against Indiana from May 1 to May 3, according to an April 30 announcement. The games are scheduled at Andy Mohr Stadium in Bloomington, Indiana, with first pitches set for Friday at 5 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m., and Sunday at noon. All three matchups will be available for streaming on B1G+.
This series is significant as it marks the conclusion of Illinois’ Big Ten Conference schedule. The Fighting Illini currently hold a record of 15-36 overall and 3-17 in conference play. Their most recent victory came against Valparaiso, where left-hander Abby Sabalaskey pitched six innings and senior Alaina Miller recorded two hits and an RBI in her last home game.
Junior Eileen Donahue recently hit her thirteenth home run of the season, tying her for ninth place on the program’s single-season list. Aly VanBrandt leads their offense with a .406 batting average and twenty-three stolen bases. Freshman Aubree Hooks heads their pitching staff with a 2.39 earned run average over seventy innings.
