The Illinois State Bar Association recognized Law Day 2026 on May 1, emphasizing the importance of the rule of law in Illinois, across the United States, and around the world. The association highlighted its ongoing efforts to promote civics education through initiatives such as the ISBA High School Mock Trial Invitational, Lawyers in Classrooms program, and Speakers Bureau.
These programs are coordinated by the Standing Committee on Law Related Education for the Public. The association encouraged all members to contribute to advancing civics education in their communities. “Efforts do not need to be fancy, but do need to be made. Through our collective efforts, we will support and encourage forward the Rule of Law,” according to a statement from the association.
Participation in these educational programs is open to all members at no cost and remains voluntary. Members can join a listserv for updates about opportunities as they arise. More information is available on the ISBA’s civics education page.
